Peek-a-boo to Someone new

This my first baby card  ever ;)
Technically it's for a baby shower party and the mum to be is announcing the gender of the baby on said party. So I wrecked my brain how I could make a neutral baby card or a card that include both boy and girl elements......

I came up with a spinning wheel card and I used both typical baby colors: light blue and pink :)

The first sentiment you can read in the circle window is "Hello Baby"

The soft embossed quilted look the embossing folder made looks like a fluffy baby blanket to me.

If you turn the wheel you can read the second sentiment which says "Boy or Girl"

And then there are these cute doggies by Mama Elephant - one is blue......

.....and one is pink - of course.

Have a nice Sunday
see you soon

Claudia

materials I used:

paper: Imagine MixMedia by Canson, bristol cardstock by exacompta, vellum

Distress Inks: faded jeans, spun sugar, tumbled glass, worn lipstick

Inks: (copic coloring) Memento tuxedo black, (stamping sentiments) VersaFine onyx black, (stamping on vellum) StazOn jet black, (baby blue) VersaMagic sea breeze all by Tsukineko; (baby pink) Shadow Ink bubblegum by Hero Arts

monstermäßig gestreift - a birthday-monster card

Heute hat die liebe Wiebke (buntebastelecke) Geburtstag. Zu ihrem Ehrentag habe ich ihr eine monstermäßige Geburtstagskarte gebastelt.

Today is the birthday of lovely Wiebke (buntebastelecke). For her special day I made this monster birthday card.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich mit Klebeband diagonale Streifen abgeklebt und habe anschließend mit verschiedenen Distress Inks in Pink- und Rottönen drüber gewischt.
For the background I mask of some diagonal stripes with low-tacky painters tape on watercolor paper. Then I blended on some Distress Inks in various shades of pink and red.

Wie süß ist bitte diese kleine Monsterchen wie es da mit dem Stift schreibt? Coloriert hab ich es mit Copic Markern.
How cute is this little monster writing with its pencil? I colored it with copic markers.

The whole design of the card is inspired by the writing monster, so I scribble a border with a fineliner around the background and even scribbled on the "happy" script die cut word to match the overall design.

Have a sweet day
see you soon

Claudia

materials I used:

dies: happy script by Mama Elephant

Coffee and Cranes - Enjoy the little things

It's this time of year in Germany that the cranes starting to fly to their wintering grounds. Which means it will getting colder really soon. I love to watch them flying by in their perfect v-shape formation and listen to their cawing - it is such a reassuring sound. I'm always deeply touched and it reminds me to enjoy the little things in life.

So that was the inspiration for this card. Pix standing there with her hot beverage, looking into the sky watching the cranes flying by

You may have recognized that those bird shapes are no cranes ;) I believe they are ducks.
I stamped some with second and third generation stamping, to create more depth.

Pix is watercolored with various Distress Inks. Her to-go cup looks a bit like it has a leo-print, but I wanted to mimik those cups which have all-over coffee bean pattern :)

For the background I used a wash of Distress Inks onto wet paper to get a soft transition of the colors

Have an awesome day
see you soon

Claudia

paper: (background) watercolor paper, (watercoloring Pix) Canson Imagine MixMedia paper

A magical day - Lawnscaping Challenge No140 "Color Scheme"

There's a new Challenge over on the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog and the task is "use black, purple and a color of you choice". That practically screams for a magical card.

I love the fairy friends stamps set from this years spring release so I was over the moon when Lawn Fawn released wintery fairies lately called frosty fairy friends. There is an adorable tree house in the stamp set and the fairies are dressed in wooly winter outfits with ear-muffs, sooooo darn cute.

So I paired the fairies from the spring release (because I wanted to create a magical but not yet wintery card) with the tree house and the berry branch from the frosty fairies stamps set. And I really love the mix and match sentiments and the different type of fonts in the frosty fairy stamp set.

As for the third color I choose a bright yellowish green. I think it looks both like magic and nature and reminds me of all the green fairies like tinkerbell or the absinthe fairy (I just love how Kylie Minogue played her in Moulin Rouge).

All the images are watercolored with distress inks on heavy weight watercolor paper.

The Background is blended with Distress Inks and spritzed with water

From some purple cardstock I die cut some stitched hillsides and some tree skeletons and sponge all of it lightly with blueprint sketch to create some depth.

The semtiment was actually an accident. I initially wanted to emboss the sentiment with platinum embossing powder. But I glued everything together before I noticed that I forgot to stamp on the sentiment ;) And I learned the hard way that it is no good to heat emboss on something that is already glued together. How I could solve my situation....
I stamped the sentment with VersaMark and VersaFine Ink and brushed perfect pearls powder over the words. Both inks are slightly sticky and the perfect pearls adhere perfectly and give a nice subtle shimmer. And the fun part: you can read "have a magical day" right away but the addition "fairy" you can only read when you're tilting the card.

Have a magical day
see you soon

Claudia

Beast friend - a Halloween Yeti

Oh how I love this season :D Autumn with it's beautiful colors and it is the month of halloween too. My favorite holiday (besides christmas) - too bad it isn't celebrated in Germany much and not at all like in the USA.
I got some new stamps to play with: the Beast Friends from My Favorite Things. Isn't the Yeti the cutest??? I really enjoy the halloween color combination and I decided to create a halloween-ish card since the Yeti is some kind of beast too - and the punny sentiments are so damn funny.

I blended the background with Distress Inks - as usual :D
I used low tacky tape to create a border and blended wilted violet on getting lighter towards the top. Then I darken it with blueprint sketch at the bottom. And at last I spritzed it with water - it never cease to amaze me :)

For the Yeti I used at first a light wash of Distress Inks - antique linen for the white part and pumice stone for face and belly and such - then I colored in details with colored pencils.

Have a creative day and see you soon

Claudia
